Best Buy is currently offering the iBuypower Slate Gaming PC for $899, representing a $300 discount from its original $1,199.99 list price. This entry-level desktop is positioned as a budget-friendly option for those looking to enter the PC gaming market.
The system is powered by an Intel Core Ultra 5 225F processor featuring 10 cores and 10 threads. It includes 16GB of DDR5 memory, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and an Intel Arc B570 graphics card equipped with 10GB of VRAM.
While the machine is optimized for 1080p gaming on high settings, it can handle 1440p resolutions if users adjust individual game settings. However, Tom's Hardware notes that the B570 GPU may struggle at 1440p with higher settings as VRAM capacity is reached, forcing reliance on the CPU. The card is described as competing with the Nvidia RTX 3060 12GB.
Purchasing this prebuilt system avoids the complexities and risks associated with building a custom PC. Additionally, the entire unit is covered under a single warranty, simplifying the support process compared to managing individual component RMAs.
