Coinciding with the release of a new Cyberpunk: Edgerunners series on Netflix, CD Projekt Red has announced that a new update for Cyberpunk 2077 is arriving soon. The studio confirmed that patch 2.5 will be released on the 22nd of October.
The developer plans to share comprehensive details regarding the update during a stream scheduled for the 21st of October. While specific patch notes remain limited, the studio has confirmed the inclusion of new cyberware customization options and a dual-wielding playstyle.
The introduction of dual-wielding is particularly notable, as the base game previously restricted players to single-handed weapon usage, even when utilizing iconic pistols like those belonging to Jackie Welles. This addition aims to address a long-standing limitation that prevented players from properly dual-wielding firearms.
Although this update brings significant changes, it is not confirmed to be the final patch for the title. Given the studio's history of supporting games long after their initial launch, such as the remaster of The Witcher 3 released 11 years later, further updates remain a possibility.
