Key information
NVIDIA released its updated DLSS 5 Neural Rendering model alongside NBA 2K27 on October 16. Following the launch, modder Renan Maniero successfully extracted the 310.9.16.0 DLL build, enabling users to inject the technology into titles lacking official support via tools like OptiScaler and RenoDX.
The new DLL includes two presets, allowing for direct comparisons between the older model and the updated version. Testing by Gaming Optimized in The Witcher 3 demonstrated performance improvements reaching up to 90%, though the channel noted that such significant gains represent a best-case scenario rather than a universal standard.
NVIDIA reports that this October update reduces the model size by 24% to approximately 118 million parameters and lowers 4K VRAM consumption by 20%. The company claims the neural rendering workload executes up to 2x faster than the September iteration, with frame rates in NBA 2K27 increasing by as much as 40%.
Official DLSS 5 support remains restricted to GeForce NOW and RTX 50-series hardware, with future plans to include RTX 40-series cards. While NVIDIA has not confirmed support for older architectures, modders have already utilized modified runtimes to enable the technology on RTX 20-series GPUs.
