Perfect World Games released an update for the free-to-play open-world title Neverness to Everness on October 21. The update introduced the new character Akane Rin, a former anomaly hunter who now works at the Star Sign live house and utilizes a guitar in combat.
Alongside the character release, the developer showcased upcoming costumes, including the Full Metal Rock outfit scheduled for sale on October 28. Players noted that the design was altered from its initial reveal, replacing glossy enamel-style thigh-high socks with black stockings.
The revised design also removed red short socks and a pin previously worn on the left thigh. While the official reason for these changes remains unconfirmed, the adjustments follow earlier social media discussions in China where some users criticized the original design as being overly cluttered or excessively fetishistic.
This modification reflects the development team's history of responding quickly to player feedback regarding character aesthetics. Neverness to Everness is available on PC, Mac, PS5, iOS, and Android, and the community has generally reacted positively to the simplified costume design.
