CD PROJEKT RED has officially announced that patch 5.01 is coming soon to the Nintendo Switch 2 version of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Remaster. While this update was implemented on other platforms on October 8, the release for the Switch 2 was delayed due to the inclusion of platform-specific features.
The update addresses several general bugs, including the automatic application of oils, issues with boats getting stuck in specific locations, and UI message display errors. Furthermore, the patch introduces visual adjustments and general performance optimizations to improve the overall gameplay experience.
Specific to the Nintendo Switch 2, the patch refines image sharpness and resolution while optimizing cache processing for cross-platform mod support. It also resolves a technical issue where HD rumble only triggered on the left Joy-Con 2 when climbing ladders.
Crucially, the update resolves reported problems with cross-progression, which allows save data to be transferred across different platforms. CD PROJEKT RED has also confirmed that measures will be taken to assist users whose data was corrupted during previous migration attempts.
