Shanghai Alice Reprise has officially confirmed via X that the Nintendo Switch 2 physical edition of Touhou Koumakyou: New Classic ～ the Embodiment of Scarlet Devil. will include a physical game card. This announcement follows multiple inquiries from users who expressed a desire to own a physical copy of the title.
The game is a vertical bullet hell shooter that reimagines the graphics and music of the original 2002 release. Beyond the New Classic game card, the physical package includes a download code for a soundtrack player and a Classic version that aims to replicate the 2002 experience. Additional physical bonuses feature a reversible jacket styled after the original release and character and bullet stickers.
The physical editions for both Nintendo Switch and Switch 2 are scheduled for release on December 17, 2026. Pricing is set at 4,400 yen including tax for the Switch version and 5,610 yen including tax for the Switch 2 version. Digital versions are currently available for PC via Steam, PS5, Switch, and Switch 2.
