Capcom has officially released the Monster Hunter Wilds Prologue Demo for the Nintendo Switch 2. This trial version allows players to experience the game's opening segments and character creation tools ahead of the full title's scheduled launch on December 4, 2026.
The demo provides access to all weapon types and story content up to Chapter 1-3, titled To the Forest. Players can utilize the character creator to design their Hunter and Palico before exploring the Windward Plains. Notably, all progress and save data from this prologue will carry over to the full game upon its release.
While the demo is restricted to offline play, it does support wireless local multiplayer on the Switch 2 hardware. Online multiplayer functionality is currently absent from the demo, though the final version of the game is slated to include cross-play support for online sessions with other platforms.
Digital pre-orders for the base game are currently live on the Nintendo eShop. Customers who pre-order by December 3 are eligible for an early adopter discount and bonus items, including the Guild Knight Set layered armor and the Hope Charm Talisman.
