Infinity Ward has unveiled a demanding new difficulty setting for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 titled YOLO mode. This option is designed specifically for players seeking an extreme challenge within the game's campaign.
The mode enforces a strict permadeath mechanic across all 16 campaign missions. Players are eliminated if they die in combat, shoot civilians, hit teammates, fail objectives, or stray too far from their squad. Any such failure forces a complete restart from the very first mission, as checkpoints are disabled.
Accessing this mode requires significant dedication. Players must first finish the campaign on any difficulty to unlock Realism mode, then complete the story again on that setting to finally gain access to YOLO. Consequently, users must finish two full playthroughs before their first attempt at this mode.
