XLGAMES has released a demo for the open-world action MMORPG ArcheAge Chronicles on PC via Steam. This title, formerly known as ArcheAge 2, serves as a successor to the original ArcheAge, which concluded its Japanese service in December 2024.
The game emphasizes action-oriented combat where players utilize melee, ranged, and magical abilities while timing dodges and parries. Beyond combat, the experience includes life-skill content such as farming, housing, and crafting, with trade routes featuring dangerous enemies that may require cooperative play.
The current demo introduces the new Throne of Hinnon dungeon and PvP functionality, offering four playable classes: Warrior, Ranger, Berserker, and Mage. Participation is open to all Steam users without prior registration, though the demo does not support the Japanese language.
XLGAMES intends to sell the game as a buy-to-play title, explicitly stating that Pay-to-Win items will not be sold. Early access is scheduled for 2026 on PC, with future releases planned for the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
