The experimental open-source project Xodus Nexus has emerged, aiming to provide Linux and SteamOS users with access to PC Game Pass. This unofficial tool allows users to browse, install, and launch games through an Xbox-inspired interface, while supporting cloud saves for compatible titles.
Functionality relies on a patched Xodus backend and a Proton-based Nexus runtime. The platform enables users to add games as non-Steam shortcuts, and recent updates have introduced features such as Xbox achievements, playtime tracking, and last-activity monitoring.
The project remains in an experimental phase, with controller navigation and Steam Game Mode integration described as works in progress. Compatibility is game-dependent, and while a list of supported titles exists, the software is early, meaning users should exercise caution.
To utilize the system, users must possess a valid Microsoft account and an active Game Pass subscription or individual game licenses. The project is entirely independent of Microsoft and Valve, and it remains unclear how the software giant might respond to the tool's existence.
