NetEase has announced a new PvE mode for Marvel Rivals titled Path to Doomsday - Avengers: Endgame. This mode features 50 players simultaneously battling Thanos, who is depicted at a significantly larger scale. The gameplay, which draws inspiration from the final conflict in the film, takes place near a ruined Avengers Tower.

The mode functions similarly to a multiplayer version of Dynasty Warriors. It represents a departure from the standard six-versus-six format, though the game previously introduced an 18-versus-18 mode and a 100-player social hub. This addition arrives as part of the Season 10.5 update scheduled for Oct. 23.

Polygon notes that this update breaks a 17-month streak of adding two heroes per season. NetEase confirmed that Season 10 will feature only one new character, Gorr the God Butcher, to allow developers to prioritize the new game modes. The studio intends to return to its regular release cadence after the season concludes.

Marvel Rivals is currently available as a free-to-play title on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows PC, and Xbox Series X. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also currently in development.
