Spanish developer Digital Sun has canceled the planned public Steam demo for its upcoming title, ReVamp, citing concerns that the game could be cloned using artificial intelligence. The studio fears that bad actors might reverse-engineer and publish a copy of the project before its official release.
ReVamp is a castle-defense roguelite where players control Dracula, manage a fortress, and command a monster army against invading heroes. The studio noted that distributing a playable version to tens of thousands of users currently presents too high a risk of intellectual property theft.
Digital Sun is not alone in this decision, as the developers of Drunken Goddess Reflux also recently canceled a public demonstration due to similar fears regarding AI-driven imitation. The studio has called for platforms to implement stronger protections for original works, highlighting the precarious position of independent developers who rely on early access for visibility.
Instead of the open Steam test, the team will host closed sessions via their Discord server, with invitations rolling out starting October 29, 2026. A broader public test is tentatively expected around January 2027. The official launch for PC remains scheduled for March 25, 2027.
