Swedish developer Liquid Swords has reportedly filed for bankruptcy. Reports from Videogames Chronicle, Break It, and PC Games indicate that the studio's approximately 30 employees went unpaid for several months, with the state expected to provide compensation.

Founded in 2020 by Christofer Sundberg, the studio launched its open-world title Samson on Steam and the Epic Games Store in April, followed by console versions in September. The studio previously implemented staff layoffs in February 2025.

Samson received a mixed reception from players, with criticism primarily directed at technical bugs. Sundberg acknowledged these flaws, stating the team intended to improve the experience, though no further updates or support have been confirmed following the bankruptcy news.

The future of the company remains unclear as management actively seeks a buyer. No sale has been finalized, leaving the long-term status of the studio and its debut project uncertain amidst broader industry-wide staff reductions.
