Key information
The Swedish game developer Liquid Swords is shutting down operations. Founder Christofer Sundberg confirmed the closure, which involves the termination of 27 employees as part of a bankruptcy process.
The studio's title, Samson, experienced a notable performance disparity between platforms. While the game launched on PC in April, it saw significantly stronger results following its September release on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S.
Financial instability plagued the studio prior to the final decision. Reports indicate that staff members had gone unpaid for two months, though outstanding wages are expected to be addressed through Swedish legal protections.
Despite the closure, the future of Samson remains in flux. Sundberg noted that the team is currently exploring potential avenues to continue supporting the title, though no definitive plans have been established.
