Key information
Electronic Sheep Games and developer Jamie Rowan have announced that the action-adventure game Lelu is participating in the Steam Next Fest. A playable demo is currently available on Steam, allowing players to experience the game's mechanics and face the boss known as Gacha King.
Lelu is a Metroidvania-style title featuring dungeon crawling and exploration. Players control a sentient wind-up toy seeking freedom from a malevolent creator. The gameplay involves solving puzzles, gathering tools, and battling various hostile toys and massive mechanical titans within a factory setting.
The game utilizes a distinct monochrome art style that blends traditional pixel art with 3D animation. To assist with navigation, developers included color accessibility features, such as highlighting the protagonist. Players can also collect items called Cuckoos to increase maximum HP and find treasure chests containing Gears to purchase new maps or outfits.
The full version of Lelu is scheduled for release on January 22, 2027. It will support multiple languages, including Japanese, and is slated to launch on Steam, Nintendo Switch 2, and Xbox Series X|S.
