Developer TurboNerds Games has officially launched a playable demo for its upcoming PC title, KILLSEC, on Steam. This top-down action roguelite challenges players to escape a secret facility owned by a massive corporation while battling waves of incoming enemies.
The core gameplay centers on physics-based melee combat where players must deflect incoming sword strikes, bullets, and lasers. By turning these threats against their attackers, players can survive the onslaught. The game also features a unique time system where the flow of time accelerates based on the player's movement speed, requiring precise reactions as the game pace increases during difficult stages.
Progression involves collecting items throughout the stages to enhance character abilities. These upgrades can be stacked to further maximize the potential of the combat body. As the game progresses, the speed of the action ramps up, demanding faster decision-making from the player.
The full version of KILLSEC is currently scheduled for release in February 2027. The developers intend to continue adding content and refining the game until its launch. While the Steam page currently indicates that the game does not support Japanese, the store description has been translated, leaving potential localization updates as a point of interest.
