Key information
Indie development duo Mallorian and FloralNoise have released a demo for their short psychological horror fishing game, HOOKEYE. The developers have officially scheduled the full game launch for December 10.
Set on a pier off the coast of California, the game explores themes of obsession, loss, and sacrifice. Players must engage in high-stakes fishing to eventually catch the legendary Siren.
Mechanics involve managing limited supplies of bait and hooks. Players can use caught fish as bait to lure larger targets, but when resources are exhausted, they must resort to making sacrifices to continue.
The narrative delves into the protagonist's past. As the Siren's song echoes across the water, the player's sanity gradually deteriorates, with the character's fixation on fishing and the creature's call accelerating their descent into madness.
