Hideo Kojima is set to return to the world of Night City through a special cameo in the second season of the anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. This official announcement was confirmed through the social media channels of both Netflix and the Japanese director.
In this upcoming appearance, Kojima will be credited under the name Hideyoshi Oshima. While the role is expected to be brief, lasting only a few seconds, it marks his debut in the anime format and includes spoken dialogue.
This development follows Kojima's previous inclusion in the video game Cyberpunk 2077. Fans have waited nearly six years to see the director return to the franchise, though this time the collaboration takes place within the animated series rather than the CD Projekt Red game.
As of now, Kojima is the only confirmed cameo for the new season. Viewers will need to watch the series in its entirety to determine if other notable figures or guest characters will appear in Night City, similar to previous cameos by creators like Alexelcapo or Vegetta777.
