Shochiku Games announced the release of a PC demo for the open-world adventure title Hela: A Tiny Mouse and the Magic Forest on October 20, 2026. Developed by Windup Games, the title invites players to explore a Nordic-inspired forest as a small mouse, interacting with various inhabitants and environmental puzzles.

The demo features a unique story and dedicated map, tasking players with collecting "sparkles" to help a young witch regain her powers while navigating toward her home. Movement relies on a "Magic Frog Backpack," which allows players to swing from branches using its tongue or glide by inflating the pack, utilizing physics-based mechanics for traversal and puzzle solving.

Players can experience the game solo or via local split-screen cooperative play. Solo adventurers can utilize a "clone" ability to manipulate objects and solve puzzles. However, the demo lacks save functionality and online cooperative features, which are reserved for the full release.

The demo is currently available on Steam, the Epic Games Store, and the Xbox PC app as part of the Steam Next Fest. The full version of the game, which will include online co-op for up to four players and medicine crafting, is scheduled for release on December 1, 2026, for PC, Switch 2, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S.
