The Rot and Ruin update for Grounded 2 expands the game world with new exploration areas, dangerous creatures, and customization options. Players can now venture into the Woodpile, a structure filled with winding paths and returning threats like termites and new O.G.R.R. variants.
Combat mechanics are enhanced with the addition of the Colorado Potato Beetle buggy, which is larger than the Ladybug buggy and capable of firing wide-range shots while providing healing support. Additionally, players can now face a new boss, the centipede, which was highly requested by the community.
Customization and progression systems have been updated to allow for more player expression and gear improvement. The new Splotcher tool enables players to paint structures, while the introduction of Bismuth and the Yoking Press allows for upgrading weapons and armor to higher tiers.
Grounded 2 is currently available in Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, and Game Pass, and in Early Access on Steam and PlayStation 5. The full version 1.0 is scheduled for release in 2027.
