The Rot and Ruin update for Grounded 2 introduces a new adventure area within the Woodpile. Players will encounter returning Termites, including Workers, Soldiers, and the Termite King, alongside new O.G.R.R. variants that exhibit strange behaviors. Additionally, the update adds a highly requested Centipede boss to the game.
Combat and base building receive significant enhancements. The new Potato Beetle Buggy is designed for close-range combat, featuring a projectile spread and a Healing Roar ability, while also assisting with resource hauling. Builders can now customize structures using the Splotcher paintball gun to apply various colors to walls, floors, and stairs.
Progression systems are expanded with the introduction of Bismuth, a resource linked to Raw Science. Players can refine this material at the new Yoking Press to upgrade weapons and armor to higher Tiers. The update also includes additional content such as new SCA.B Themes, collectible miniatures, and new stations.
Grounded 2 is currently available in Xbox Game Preview for Xbox Series X|S and PC, via Game Pass, and through Early Access on Steam and PlayStation 5. The full version 1.0 is scheduled to arrive in 2027.
