The Rot and Ruin update for Grounded 2 introduces the Woodpile area, a new location featuring winding passages and imposing structures. Players will encounter returning Termites, including Workers, Soldiers, and the Termite King, alongside new O.G.R.R. variants that exhibit strange behaviors and unique attacks.
Combat challenges are further increased by the addition of the Centipede, a highly requested boss creature. To assist in battle, players can utilize the new Potato Beetle mount. This creature is larger than the Ladybug, capable of firing projectiles, performing a Healing Roar, and transporting resources for construction projects.
Customization options have expanded with the introduction of painting. Players can craft paint and use the Splotcher tool to apply colors to structures like walls, floors, and roofs. Additionally, equipment progression is enhanced through the use of Bismuth, a new resource refined via the Yoking Press to upgrade weapons and armor to higher levels.
The update also includes new SCA.B themes, collectible figures, and stations throughout Brookhollow Park. Grounded 2 is currently available in Xbox Game Preview on Xbox Series X|S, PC, and Game Pass, with the full 1.0 version scheduled for release in 2027.
