GameWorks has announced that its annual event, formerly known as the Heterogeneous School Game Brawl, is now rebranded as the GameWorks Game Exchange Day. The event will take place on November 7 at ThinkSpace in Taichung, featuring 57 game and tabletop booths, a 33% increase from the previous year.
Attendees can play award-winning titles from the Vision Get Wild Awards, including the gold-winning A Lovely Night and NeXor¡a, alongside the silver-winning Adventure of Ago: Drifting Sky. These games utilize unique mechanics, such as using bombs for movement in A Lovely Night, rotating cubes for rhythm in NeXor¡a, and a frog's tongue for environmental interaction in Adventure of Ago.
Developer Bago will share insights regarding the action game Red Ruby, which launched in July and has garnered over 4,300 Steam reviews with a 94% positive rating as of October 21. Bago noted that early player feedback on complex skills led the team to simplify designs and focus on core combat mechanics like focus and thrust.
The free event, organized by GameWorks with support from TiGG and BGD, includes 44 digital game booths and a new tabletop section with 13 booths. Registration is currently open for those interested in attending.
