Publisher Rollover Game and developer TPX500 released the psychological survival horror title Dream-Back Syndrome on Steam today. The game draws inspiration from Jungian psychology, tasking players with exploring a distorted, nightmarish version of their own room.
The gameplay blends first-person shooting, exploration, and resource management. Players must navigate eerie environments and combat monstrous entities using various weapons and equipment, while carefully managing limited supplies to ensure their survival.
A central feature is the dynamic sanity system. As players delve deeper into the game, their sanity levels decline, causing the experience to become increasingly unpredictable and triggering unexpected events during combat and exploration.
The developers designed the movement and console systems to evoke the feel of classic GoldSrc-era PC shooters. The title offers over 15 hours of single-player content, featuring multiple endings determined by player choices regarding whether to confront the truth or succumb to madness.
