FINAL FANTASY RESONANCE, a new HD-2D RPG, launches on PlayStation 5 on October 22. Developed by Square Enix, the title reimagines the first season of the mobile game FINAL FANTASY BRAVE EXVIUS. It features high-definition pixel art, 3D cinematic sequences, and a soundtrack by Elements Garden, including 33 new tracks.
The story follows knights Rain and Lasswell, who embark on a journey to protect world crystals after their kingdom is attacked by a mysterious armored figure known as Veritas of the Dark. Players travel across various regions using airships to uncover secrets and confront powerful foes.
Combat utilizes an evolved turn-based system featuring a timeline display for strategic planning. Players can trigger a Break state by depleting enemy gauges, leading to Extra Phases and powerful Resonance attacks. Additionally, the Vision Crystal system allows characters to equip abilities from other heroes, offering deep customization options.
The game is priced at 7,678 yen for the standard edition and 9,878 yen for the digital deluxe edition. A free demo covering the entire first chapter is currently available, with save data transferable to the full version. Various pre-order and early purchase bonuses, including equipment and item packs, are also provided.
