The future of this production now rests with the current Lucasfilm leadership, which includes Dave Filoni. This development aligns with rumors from the 2024 Comic-Con, which suggested that a loss of confidence following Waititi's work on Thor: Love and Thunder may have impacted his standing with Lucasfilm.
Reports indicate that Marvel may have distanced the director from the final edit of his previous film. Furthermore, speculation suggests that a potential Thor 5 will adopt a darker tone, moving away from the comedic style associated with Waititi.
