Castlevania: Belmont’s Curse has arrived on PS5, Xbox Series, PC, and Nintendo Switch 2. The title features an older Trevor Belmont alongside a new female lead named Rose, with the game's dark and provocative aesthetic drawing significant attention from the community.
Lead designer Sandro Bordier and marketing director Berenger Dupre discussed the game's focus on attractive character designs during an interview with Fall Damage. The team confirmed that the visual style was a conscious creative decision intended to please the fanbase.
Bordier expressed pride in the character designs, noting that the team put significant effort into the process. Dupre added that the positive reception, particularly regarding Trevor, exceeded their expectations, noting that the team enjoys seeing the fan art generated by the community.
The developers acknowledged that crafting new stories for these beloved characters is a tense process. Currently, the team views the fan response to these design choices as highly emotional.
