Valve has launched the October 2026 edition of Steam Next Fest, a recurring event held every four months that provides players access to thousands of demos for games currently in development. This festival serves as an opportunity to preview upcoming titles before their official retail release.

The selection includes diverse genres, such as the cyberpunk roguelite ReBlade: The Death Spiral, which features time-loop mechanics, and The Dark West, a visceral action RPG set in a corrupted frontier. Other notable entries include the pinball-shooter hybrid Appulse, launching November 16, 2026, and the resource management title Project Tomorrow, which tasks players with terraforming a desolate Earth.

Strategy and puzzle fans have several options, including Red Recon: 1944, a stealth-focused real-time strategy game set for November 4, 2026, and Flexible Frosty, a Game Boy-inspired puzzle adventure. Additionally, titles like Littlelands offer life simulation elements, while Cat Rooms: Sticker Decor! provides a more relaxed experience involving diorama creation.

Further variety is provided by games like Castle Away, a roguelite featuring a customizable flying castle, and the point-and-click adventure Missi, which utilizes a watercolor art style. These demos allow users to explore unique mechanics and visual aesthetics ahead of their respective launches, with some titles arriving as early as November 2026 or as late as the first quarter of 2027.
