Publisher Hooded Horse and developer Lion Shield announced an update for the city-building simulation game Roman Triumph on the 16th. This content expansion introduces new mechanics, including the threat of deadly plagues and the addition of the god Apollo to the game's pantheon.
The update integrates Apollo, the god of medicine and healing, who presents health-related challenges to players. By fulfilling his requirements, players earn favor, which can be spent to upgrade Apollo's temples into sanctuaries dedicated to Asclepius, providing divine healing to citizens during outbreaks.
To manage disease when divine intervention is unavailable, players can construct clinics to slow the spread of illness, though these structures only delay inevitable deaths. Additionally, the update adds a photo mode for capturing city aesthetics and a map editor that allows for terrain customization, alongside the ability to host gladiator matches in the Colosseum.
Roman Triumph is currently available in early access on Steam, GOG, Epic Games Store, and the Microsoft Store, with support for PC Game Pass. The game is priced at 599, with a limited-time discount reducing the cost to 389.
