Pearl Abyss released a preview for the Crimson Desert Enhanced Edition DLC titled Unknown Journey on the 21st. The expansion follows protagonists Cliff, Demian, and Onka as they embark on individual journeys of self-discovery after protecting the continent of Pywel. Players will encounter new characters and face powerful bosses throughout their travels.
The DLC introduces maritime exploration, allowing players to construct and customize ships to traverse the ocean. Beyond sailing, players can dive into the sea using specialized gear to uncover hidden ruins and treasures. On land, the update adds management mechanics for liberated outposts, where players can assign companions to facilities and determine sales strategies to accumulate wealth.
Social and creative systems are also expanded. Players can now build relationships with specific characters, potentially leading to romance or marriage, with partners visiting the Grey Mane camp. Additionally, the home system now allows for extensive customization, including modifying wall and window configurations to design personalized living spaces or decorated castle interiors.
Unknown Journey is scheduled for a global release on October 30. It is currently available for pre-order on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, and the Epic Games Store. Pre-ordering grants exclusive in-game items, including diving suit sets for the three main characters.
