Blizzard Entertainment and developer Glass Cannon Unplugged have unveiled Diablo: Unbound, a new cooperative board game described as a dungeon battler. Revealed at the Spiel Essen event, the title aims to bring the franchise's signature hack-and-slash gameplay to the tabletop format for one to four players.

The game incorporates deck-building and dice-rolling mechanics, featuring four classes: Barbarian, Rogue, Sorceress, and Paladin. Each class includes unique skill trees and progression paths. Glass Cannon Unplugged CEO Jakub Wiśniewski noted that the game focuses on high-stakes boss encounters and relentless monster hordes, distinguishing it from traditional dungeon crawlers.

Gameplay is structured across three acts, each containing three levels and a final boss. Players manage loot and character upgrades during a Town Phase. Sessions typically last between 60-90 minutes, with full acts requiring three to four-ish hours. An endgame Torment mode allows players to challenge bosses in their ultimate forms.

Diablo: Unbound is currently in pre-launch on Gamefound. The developer, known for previous adaptations like Frostpunk and Apex Legends, plans to launch the full campaign in Q1 2027, with additional details expected in the coming months.
