Bungie has surprised the community by announcing plans to unvault content for Destiny 2, shifting focus back to the shooter MMO following the final content update released last June. While the developer confirmed that returning content is a priority, specific details regarding which assets will return and the exact timing remain unclear.
Josh Deane, the head of product at Bungie, stated that the studio is developing a very intentional process for this initiative. He noted that the team intends to share information regarding the first step of this plan before the end of October.
To manage player expectations, Bungie will move away from traditional roadmaps. Instead, the studio plans to utilize a progress bar layout to track development milestones and highlight specific challenges the team encounters during the unvaulting process.
This new communication approach aims to keep the community aligned with the developers as they work toward establishing concrete release dates. Players are encouraged to remain patient as the studio prepares to provide further clarity on these upcoming changes in the coming weeks.
