Key information
Developer Haojoy Games and publisher 2P Games have released a playable demo for the farming simulation game Bamboo Spring Chronicles on Steam. Set during the Spring and Autumn period, the title invites players to experience rural life in the pre-Qin era while striving to succeed amidst a chaotic landscape.
The gameplay combines traditional farming mechanics with historical aesthetics. Players engage in logging, mining, livestock management, and fishing to build their resources. By collecting blueprints, users can craft tools and furniture to cultivate their land. The experience emphasizes seasonal changes and the necessity of stockpiling grain to support military efforts.
Beyond agriculture, the game features tactical combat elements. Players must forge weapons and train local recruits to defend against approaching barbarian forces. Combat involves deploying various troop types across three lanes on a map to repel enemy waves or launch direct assaults on opposing camps, allowing players to reclaim territory and restore their homeland.
The developers have focused on historical accuracy, incorporating period-appropriate rituals, food, and music. As players craft or repair instruments, the background music shifts to feature traditional sounds like flutes, zithers, and chime bells. The demo is currently available for download on Steam, where players can add the title to their wishlists.
