Cygames has released a playable demo for Horaku no Kuni, the debut title from its new brand CygamesEdge. The full game is scheduled for release on November 5, 2026, for PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam, priced at 1,100 yen including tax.
The game is a dramatic action-adventure set on a world tree where civilization resides. Players control a man who, alongside a companion, must navigate the descent toward the ground. The core mechanics involve assessing footholds, reading wind patterns, and controlling falls.
The Steam demo focuses exclusively on the high-difficulty descent mechanics, offering 15 to 30 minutes of gameplay without story elements. In contrast, the full version features a narrative-driven experience where actions are unlocked progressively, designed to be accessible to a wider audience with a main story lasting approximately three hours.
CygamesEdge was established to focus on small-to-medium-scale development, prioritizing experimental and unique gameplay experiences. Developed in collaboration with Zereo, the title also includes post-game challenges like time attacks and high-difficulty maps.
