CD Projekt has officially announced the upcoming 2.5 update for Cyberpunk 2077, which is scheduled for release on October 22, 2026. This free content drop coincides with the premiere of the second season of the anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners 2 on Netflix.
The update introduces several gameplay enhancements, including a new dual-wielding playstyle and additional customization options for cyberware. These features are designed to reflect the characters and events depicted in the new anime series developed by CD Projekt and Studio Trigger.
The 2.5 update will be available to all owners of the base game, regardless of whether they possess the Phantom Liberty expansion. CD Projekt plans to host a digital event via RED Streams on October 21, 2026, at 17:00 CEST to provide a comprehensive overview of the new additions.
Regarding platform availability, the update is confirmed for PC, PS5, and Xbox Series consoles on the launch date. A version for Switch 2 is also planned, though the developer has not yet provided a specific release date for that platform.
