To celebrate the launch of the standalone sequel anime Cyberpunk: Edgerunners 2 on Netflix, CD Projekt Red has revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 will receive a significant update this week.
Officially titled the Edgerunners 2 Update or Update 2.5, the patch is set to introduce various new features and items, alongside content specifically inspired by the new anime series.
Polygon's Ryan Epps, who viewed the first episode of the anime at Anime Expo, praised the production for its punchy sound design, gorgeous framing, and incredible colors, describing it as a fresh perspective on the established setting.
The update is scheduled for release on Oct. 22 for Windows PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X. A version for the Nintendo Switch 2 is expected to follow shortly thereafter. CD Projekt Red plans to host a livestream on Wednesday at 11 a.m. EDT via Twitch, YouTube, and Steam to provide further details.
