CD Projekt Red has unveiled Update 2.5 for Cyberpunk 2077, a new release scheduled to launch on October 22. This update is timed to coincide with the second season of the anime series Cyberpunk Edgerunners, aiming to integrate fresh content inspired by the show into the game.
The upcoming patch introduces several gameplay additions, including cyberware customization options and a new dual-wielding playstyle. Associate game director Pawel Sasko expressed significant enthusiasm for the reveal, which will be showcased during a livestream preview scheduled for Wednesday at 8 AM PT / 11 AM ET.
This release follows a history of post-launch improvements that helped stabilize the title after its initial release difficulties. The studio has previously utilized anime-themed updates to engage players, as the 2022 series debut was instrumental in revitalizing interest in the game.
Update 2.5 will be available on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S. As of July 3, 2026, the game has surpassed 40 million copies sold, while development continues on the sequel, Cyberpunk 2.
