CD Projekt has revealed a surprise update for Cyberpunk 2077, titled the Edgerunners 2 Update (2.5). This free content drop is scheduled to launch on October 22, 2026, coinciding with the release of the Edgerunners 2 anime on Netflix.
The developer confirmed that the update will introduce new items and features inspired by the anime series. While specific details remain limited, associate game director Paweł Sasko teased that the team has prepared significant content for players.
Comprehensive details regarding the update and full patch notes are set to be unveiled on October 21, 2026, during a dedicated REDstreams broadcast.
The update will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X and S, with a version for the Nintendo Switch 2 expected to follow shortly. This release arrives despite previous statements from May where the company indicated no further plans for expansions, following the success of the 2023 Phantom Liberty DLC.
