Following the Oct. 20 premiere of Cyberpunk: Edgerunners Season 2 on Netflix, CD Projekt Red is preparing a major update for Cyberpunk 2077. Known as version 2.5, this content drop is scheduled for release on Oct. 22 across PC and console platforms.
The update introduces several gameplay changes, including a new "Double Trouble" perk in the Cool skill tree that enables dual-wielding for pistols and revolvers. Players will also gain access to expanded Cyberware customization, additional clothing options, and new hairstyles for V. Furthermore, the patch adds two side quests and a dedicated radio station featuring music from the anime series.
A significant technical addition for console users is the integration of mod support via mod.io, a feature previously implemented in The Witcher 3 Remastered. While CD Projekt Red plans to officially unveil these details during a livestream on Oct. 21 at 11 a.m. ET, information regarding these features surfaced early due to a leaked video from a content creator.
This update continues CD Projekt Red's long-term support strategy for the title, which has seen consistent improvements since its 2020 launch. The developer aims to encourage players to revisit Night City following the release of the 10-episode second season of the anime.
