Pearl Abyss has unveiled a six-minute video detailing Charting the Unknown, the first paid expansion for the action-adventure game Crimson Desert. Following a slight delay, the content is scheduled for release on October 29.
The expansion introduces significant maritime gameplay, allowing players to construct custom ships to navigate the ocean and explore new islands. Beyond surface travel, the update features underwater exploration, where players can uncover hidden treasures in previously inaccessible locations.
The DLC, priced at 24.99 euros, adds new narrative content, business management mechanics, and expanded housing customization, including structural design options. Additionally, the update enhances character relationship systems, enabling potential marriages, and introduces a boss rush challenge featuring consecutive encounters with foes from across Pywel.
Charting the Unknown arrives as an addition to the base game, which had surpassed 6 million copies sold as of June. The expansion also introduces new allies and rivals to the world of Pywel.
