Finnish Counter-Strike 2 professional Aleksi “Aleksib” Virolainen is currently facing legal proceedings regarding allegations of aggravated tax fraud. Prosecutors at the Eastern Uusimaa District Court have requested a four-month suspended prison sentence for the player.

The charges stem from income generated through in-game sticker sales, which are virtual items available on the Steam Marketplace and through other channels. Prosecutors allege that Virolainen failed to declare €53,000 in revenue received from Valve in 2020, resulting in an estimated €28,000 in unpaid taxes.

During the court proceedings on October 16, the defense argued that the player, who was 22 at the time, lacked understanding of the tax system and believed his obligations were already satisfied. Virolainen has pleaded not guilty to the charges, maintaining that he did not intentionally seek financial gain.

The alleged offenses occurred between May 19, 2020, and September 22, 2020. While the case remains ongoing with a future ruling expected, the 29-year-old continues his professional career representing Natus Vincere. No formal conviction has been issued at this time.
