Final Fantasy Resonance, a turn-based RPG featuring HD-2D graphics, centers its gameplay around a mechanic called Visions. These entities allow players to equip legendary characters from the franchise's history to their main party members, Rain and Lasswell, to aid in their quest to save the world of Lapis.

Players unlock Visions by visiting shrines and completing challenges. Once equipped, these companions provide specific passive bonuses and combat abilities, such as Noctis granting a 20% attack boost and access to Ice and Lightning magic. As Visions gain mastery points through combat, players unlock further enhancements, including powerful limit break attacks like Cloud’s Péril ascendant, which can be triggered after putting enemies into a state of shock.

The system distinguishes itself from traditional summons like Chimères by fundamentally altering team roles and stats. By increasing affinity through repeated use, players can transform characters into specialists or generalists. For instance, assigning a healer Vision to a breaker character like Lasswell provides defensive utility, while pairing him with Cloud enhances his offensive capabilities.

The game features 26 distinct Visions, including iconic figures like Sephiroth, Terra, and Lightning, alongside original characters from Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Each Vision includes original musical themes and faithful attack animations. Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 22.
