Final Fantasy Resonance, a turn-based RPG featuring HD-2D cinematic graphics, introduces a core mechanic called Visions. These allow players to equip legendary heroes from across the series to main party members Rain and Lasswell, providing unique spells, combat attacks, and permanent stat boosts to energy and speed.

The game includes 26 distinct companions, ranging from iconic figures like Sephiroth and Lightning to original characters from Final Fantasy Brave Exvius. Each Vision features faithful animations, music, and abilities. Players unlock passive bonuses and active skills by gaining mastery points through combat, with advanced abilities like Zidane's Steal or Cloud's Resonance Ascension cinematic move becoming available as affinity grows.

Visions function differently from traditional Espers, which only join for a set number of turns. Instead, Visions serve as a customization layer that alters party roles. By pairing specific Visions with characters, players can create specialized or balanced builds, such as turning the Breaker Lasswell into a support healer or enhancing his offensive capabilities.

The title offers traditional elements including orchestral music, Chocobo riding, and a narrative journey. Players can further evolve their characters by collecting magicite to increase Vision ranks. Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 22.
