Key information
Shueisha Games announced that the 2D exploration action game Chronoscript: The Endless End has been delayed to early summer 2027. The title, developed by DeskWorks, will launch on PC via Steam, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S, including Xbox on PC.
Although the August demo received an 85% positive rating on Steam, director Tom Fujii and producer Masami Yamamoto decided to delay the release to incorporate high-quality user feedback. The team is currently refining core action mechanics and improving narrative delivery to ensure the game meets player expectations.
Key adjustments include making character movements more intuitive by enabling immediate invincibility frames upon dodging and doubling the input buffer window for attacks. Artist Namu Namba noted that while they increased responsiveness, they maintained the game's deliberate weight to preserve its Metroidvania identity, avoiding a overly fast-paced feel.
The developers also addressed level design and difficulty balance. By analyzing player behavior, they optimized the placement of rest areas and adjusted boss encounters. While the game remains challenging, the team aims to provide a balanced experience where players must utilize skills strategically rather than relying on brute force.
