Key information
PlayStation.Blog has officially recognized Control Resonant as the top new game release for September 2026. This title emerged as the winner following a monthly voting process where the community selected their favorite new releases.
The selection process involved a list of major titles curated by editorial teams from both PlayStation.Blog and the PlayStation Store. Alongside Control Resonant, other notable games released during the month included Marvel’s Wolverine, Dune: Awakening, and NBA 2K27.
To qualify for the monthly vote, games must be new releases rather than simple remasters or remakes. However, the criteria allow for more ambitious remakes, such as those comparable to Final Fantasy VII Remake or Resident Evil 4, to be included in the nominations.
Following the conclusion of the voting period, the results were tallied to determine the winner. Moving forward, the PlayStation Store plans to feature various winners of the Players' Choice awards throughout the current year.
