Leaked gameplay footage has unveiled Assassin's Creed Destiny, an ambitious open-world project set in Imperial China that was secretly developed by Ubisoft and Tencent. According to reports from MP1st on October 15, 2026, the title was intended for PC and console platforms before being cancelled.

The game was set in 206 BCE during the fall of the Qin Dynasty. Players would have chosen between male or female protagonists, each featuring unique animations for parkour and combat. Notable mechanics included a specialized rotating umbrella weapon used for both defense and offense, alongside an interface featuring ink-brush style ability icons and a yin-yang emblem.

Development was led by Tencent's TiMi Studio Group, but the project faced significant hurdles. Internal restructuring at TiMi in early 2025, combined with Tencent's shift toward casual gaming and Ubisoft's severe budget cuts, led to the cancellation. Furthermore, maintaining two projects focused on the same historical setting was deemed strategically unwise, with the mobile-focused Assassin's Creed Jade viewed as a lower-risk alternative.

While Assassin's Creed Destiny remains a cancelled prototype, fans of the franchise are now looking toward future releases. The status of the mobile-exclusive Assassin's Creed Jade remains unknown, and players continue to await updates on other upcoming titles in the series, such as Assassin's Creed Codename Hexe.
