CD Projekt is expanding the Cyberpunk 2077 universe to celebrate the release of the second season of the Netflix series Cyberpunk: Edgerunners. The developer announced a new update for the RPG, continuing a trend of linking game content to the animated series produced by Studio Trigger.
The upcoming Update 2.5 will introduce new gameplay styles and modification options. Specifically, the developer teased a new playstyle centered on dual-wielding weapons and expanded cyberware customization. Further details will be revealed during a REDstream scheduled for October 21 at 17:00 Spanish peninsular time.
This update follows the precedent set by the release of the first season of Edgerunners, which coincided with the launch of Update 1.6. That previous patch was well-received by fans for adding series-inspired items like David's jacket, new missions, and a transmogrification system that allowed players to change their appearance without affecting equipment stats.
Update 2.5 is scheduled to be available across all platforms on October 22. The announcement was accompanied by promotional artwork featuring the character V alongside Weak Kingsley, a new addition to the series, engaging in combat with MaxTac members.
