Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 is launching its new DMZ extraction mode ahead of the global release on October 23. Players deploy to the Hajin map to gather resources and must successfully extract before being eliminated by enemy forces.

Operators are central to the DMZ experience, requiring players to manage an Active Duty roster. Each character grows stronger by surviving deployments and earning XP, which improves their Dog Tag quality and provides Trait Points. These points can be spent across Warfighter, Scout, and Survivalist trees to unlock specialized abilities, with a limit of 18 traits per operator.

If an operator is eliminated, they become Missing in Action and require DMZ Cash to recover. Recovery costs scale with the number of invested Trait Points, creating a risk-reward dynamic. Alternatively, players can dismiss MIA operators to recruit replacements. Once an operator reaches 18 Trait Points, they can undergo Prestige to earn a permanent trait, though this resets their points and requires specific gear.

Modern Warfare 4 will be available on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox on PC, Steam, and Battle.net. It is not available on Xbox One or Xbox Game Pass. Online multiplayer requires a Game Pass Essential subscription, and PC users must have TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot enabled.
