On October 20, Hong Kong Spiral Rising Technology released the major update titled "Walking at Dawn" for the free-to-play action RPG Duet Night Abyss. The game, available on PC, iOS, and Android, is notable for its lack of character gacha mechanics, as all characters and weapons are unlocked through gameplay.
The update introduces "Rhythm: One Who Wears Flames," a new playable character voiced by Asami Seto. This version represents the first instance of an existing character receiving a separate playable iteration with a different outfit. The character, a former imperial soldier who transitioned into an adventurer, retains her lightning attribute but features refreshed combat capabilities, including sniper-style mechanics designed for high damage in boss encounters.
Players can acquire this new version of Rhythm for free by completing the "Experience Theater" battle content. Additionally, the update includes a new sub-story titled "She Becomes the Light," which explores the character's journey after leaving the military. A separate skin gacha has also been introduced, offering a limited-edition dress outfit for the character.
Beyond the character additions, the update brings further content to the game, including the new weapon "Weight of Living," enhancements for the characters Shiryu and Yumin, and various events.
