Final Fantasy Resonance, an RPG featuring HD-2D graphics and turn-based combat, centers its gameplay around a unique system called Visions. These entities allow players to equip legendary heroes from across the series to the main party members, Rain and Lasswell, to aid in their quest to save the world.
There are 26 available Visions, including iconic characters like Sephiroth, Terra, Lightning, and the original Warrior of Light. Each Vision provides specific passive benefits, spells, and physical attacks. As players earn mastery points through battle, they unlock deeper abilities, such as Noctis’s burst gauge enhancements or Zidane’s thieving skills.
Visions fundamentally alter character roles and combat strategy. By pairing characters with specific Visions, players can customize their party members into specialists or versatile hybrids. For instance, pairing the breaker Lasswell with a healer Vision grants him support capabilities, while pairing him with Cloud enhances his offensive combat potential.
Beyond standard combat, players can trigger cinematic resonance attacks after stunning enemies. The game also features traditional Espers for temporary assistance. Final Fantasy Resonance is scheduled for release on PlayStation 5 on October 22.
